Soft, baked apple cider donuts infused with autumn spices and topped with a decadent caramel glaze.
1 1/2 cups apple cider (reduced to 1/2 cup)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup caramel sauce for glazing
1. Reduce apple cider to 1/2 cup and cool.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease donut pan.
3. Whisk flour, baking powder, soda, and spices.
4. Mix melted butter, egg, sugar, vanilla, and reduced cider.
5. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
6. Pipe into pan and bake 10-12 minutes.
7. Dip cooled donuts into caramel glaze.
Reduce cider in advance to save time.
Store in an airtight container for 2 days.
Add sea salt to caramel for a salted version.
