Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
– 1 lb diced chicken (optional)
– 1 cup chopped onion
– 1 cup diced bell peppers
– 1 cup diced celery
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
– 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
– 1 cup beef or chicken broth
– 2 tsp chili powder
– 1 tsp cumin
– 1 tsp paprika
– 1 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
– 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)

Instructions

1. Chop all vegetables and mince garlic.
2. Add meat, vegetables, tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, and spices to crockpot.
3. Cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
4. Stir in heavy cream and cheddar in last 30 minutes (optional).
5. Serve and garnish with parsley, cilantro, or avocado.

Notes

Brown ground beef for flavor. Add zucchini or cauliflower for variety. Adjust spices to taste.
