A savory, hearty blend of seasoned ground beef, tender long-grain rice, and rich French onion soup topped with melted cheese and crispy onions.
1 lb lean ground beef
1 cup long-grain white rice
1 can (10.5 oz) condensed French onion soup
2 cups beef broth
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
2 tsp minced garlic
1 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup crispy fried onions
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.Brown beef and onions in olive oil in a large skillet.
3.Drain fat and stir in garlic.
4.Add broth, soup, and rice; simmer covered for 15 minutes.
5.Stir in sour cream and half the cheese.
6.Transfer to a 9×13 dish and top with remaining cheese.
7.Bake for 20 minutes.
8.Top with crispy onions and bake 5 more minutes.
9.Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
