A classic, cheesy homemade lasagna recipe featuring rich beef sauce and creamy ricotta layers. Perfect for a comforting family dinner.
12 lasagna noodles
1 lb ground beef
1 white onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
24 oz marinara sauce
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
15 oz ricotta cheese
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1. Brown the beef with onion and garlic in a large skillet.
2. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 15 minutes.
3. In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, and half the parmesan.
4. Cook noodles al dente and drain.
5. Layer sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in a 9×13 dish.
6. Repeat layers, ending with meat sauce and mozzarella.
7. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.
8. Remove foil and bake 20 more minutes until bubbly.
Rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
Substitute cottage cheese for ricotta if desired.
Freeze unbaked for up to 3 months.
