These Spiderweb Cupcakes are perfect for a spooky Halloween treat! Moist chocolate cupcakes topped with creamy frosting and decorated with a spooky spiderweb using chocolate piping.
– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 tsp baking soda
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/2 cup vegetable oil
– 1 cup buttermilk
– 2 large eggs
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 cup chocolate frosting
– 2 oz dark chocolate, melted for spiderweb
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In another bowl, mix oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
5. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full with batter and bake 18–20 minutes.
6. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
7. Frost cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
8. Melt dark chocolate and pipe a circle on top of each cupcake. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center outward to create a spiderweb effect.
You can add candy spiders on top for extra Halloween fun. Store cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
