A bakery-style pastry featuring buttery puff pastry, a creamy cheesecake center, and tart cherry filling.

Ingredients

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

3/4 cup cherry pie filling

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tbsp coarse sugar

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

1 tbsp milk

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

2.Mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

3.Roll pastry into a rectangle on parchment.

4.Cut diagonal strips along the sides of the pastry.

5.Spread cheese and cherry filling down the center.

6.Braid the strips over the filling.

7.Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.

8.Bake 20–25 minutes until golden.

9.Drizzle with glaze once cooled.

Notes

Keep pastry cold for maximum flakiness.

Sub almonds for a nutty crunch.

Reheat in the oven to restore crispness.
