8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
8 oz smoked Gouda, shredded
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh thyme for garnish
1. Sauté onions in butter and oil on low heat for 45 minutes until brown.
2. Beat cream cheese, sour cream, and mayo until smooth.
3. Stir in smoked gouda, Worcestershire, and garlic powder.
4. Fold in the cooled caramelized onions.
5. Garnish with fresh thyme and serve warm or cold.
Caramelize onions ahead of time to save 45 minutes on the day of serving.
Use a block of cheese and shred it yourself for the smoothest texture.
Pairs perfectly with toasted baguette or fresh vegetable sticks.
