A fun and hearty deconstructed burger served over a bed of crispy golden fries.
28 oz frozen crinkle-cut French fries
1 lb lean ground beef
1 small yellow onion, diced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
Optional toppings: Shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced pickles
1.Preheat oven to 425°F and bake fries for 20-25 minutes until extra crispy.
2.While fries bake, brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet until cooked.
3.Drain the grease and stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, ketchup, and mustard.
4.Reduce oven heat to 375°F once the fries are finished.
5.Layer the seasoned beef mixture evenly over the top of the crispy fries.
6.Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the beef layer.
7.Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8.Top with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles before serving immediately.
Bake fries longer than the bag recommends to ensure they stay structural.
Lean beef (90/10) prevents the dish from becoming overly greasy.
Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version of this bake.
